Goiânia City Hall seeks R$ 590 million BNDES loan

The Goiânia City Hall, under Mayor Sandro Mabel, has submitted a bill to the Municipal Chamber to authorize a R$ 590 million loan from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES). This request, managed through the National Social Infrastructure Investment Fund (FIIS) with federal guarantees, marks the third credit operation sought by the current administration, bringing the total requested amount to R$ 1.034 billion.

The proposed funds are earmarked for various urban improvements, including urban mobility, resilient infrastructure, drainage, environmental recovery, and urban revitalization. Specific projects include the construction of 18 bridges and crossings, the requalification of Marginal Botafogo to prevent flooding, and the implementation of the Barreiro Linear Park. Additionally, R$ 80 million is allocated for environmental recovery at Parque Buracão, and R$ 122 million is designated for interventions in the Cascavel Stream area.

This follows two previous credit operations: a R$ 132 million BNDES loan approved in December 2025 for technological modernization, and a US$ 60 million loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approved in June for the Macambira-Anicuns Urban Environmental Program (Puama II).
