Goiânia cooking gas prices vary by up to 25%, Procon Goiás reports

A survey conducted by Procon Goiás between September 23 and 25 found that the price of 13kg cooking gas cylinders varies by up to 25% among retailers in Goiânia. The study evaluated 21 establishments across several regions, including North, Central-West, South, Southwest, and East.

The highest price fluctuations were observed in the North region, where home delivery prices ranged from R$ 100 to R$ 125. In the Central-West region, price differences for in-store purchases reached over 23%, with prices between R$ 105 and R$ 130. Other variations included a 13% difference in the South region and nearly 15% in the Southwest region.

Procon Goiás advises consumers to research prices before purchasing and to inspect the physical condition of the cylinders. Consumers are warned to reject damaged, rusted, or dented tanks and to avoid purchasing from clandestine street vendors, as these products lack mandatory safety inspections and maintenance.
