Goiânia implements 88 waste containers to improve city collection

The City of Goiânia, in partnership with Consórcio Limpa Gyn, has distributed 88 waste containers across municipal markets, fairs, and strategic locations. The initiative aims to reduce irregular waste disposal and enhance collection efficiency.

Between January and September 2026, Consórcio Limpa Gyn collected 380,600 tons of solid waste. The new containers, each measuring two meters long, one meter wide, and having a one-ton capacity, have been placed in several key areas. Municipal markets such as Mercado Municipal de Goiânia, Mercado Pedro Ludovico, and Mercado Municipal de Campinas have received multiple units.

Other strategic placements include 16 containers on Rua 44, 15 in Vila Canaã, and four at the Goiânia Zoo. Three specific containers are dedicated to selective collection, located at Rua 8, Rua do Lazer, and Viela 36. Organic waste collection from these containers occurs daily, Monday through Friday.
