Goiânia to host Festival Viva Goiânia for 93rd anniversary
The city of Goiânia will celebrate its 93rd anniversary throughout October with the Festival Viva Goiânia. The event features 229 free attractions, including musical performances, sports, culture, and gastronomy, distributed across 11 to 13 different regions to decentralize access to the festivities.
On the official anniversary, October 24, the celebrations will center on Avenida Goiás with 51 activities spread across three stages and thematic spaces for fashion, art, and food. Musical highlights include Seu Jorge, Murilo Huff, Zeca Baleiro, and Sandra de Sá. The program also features a traditional civic parade in the Campinas sector.
Beyond music, the festival includes diverse activities such as street races, cycling, boxing, capoeira, circus arts, theater, and stand-up comedy. Mayor Sandro Mabel stated that the initiative aims to socialize the celebrations and ensure the population in various neighborhoods can participate in the city's development and cultural appreciation.
