Goiânia to host Bon Odori anniversary and Festival Bananada
Goiânia will host two major cultural events in August 2026. The 24th edition of the Bon Odori festival, organized by the Associação Nipo-Brasileira de Goiás (ANBG), will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Kaikan Goiânia. Under the theme ‘Viva o Kaikan!’, the festival will feature music, dance, taikô, and Japanese gastronomy. The event is designed as a hybrid experience, offering both in-person attendance for an estimated 10,000 people and digital broadcasts to connect the local community with Japan.
Simultaneously, the Festival Bananada returns to the city after a six-year hiatus. Running from August 18 to 23, the independent music festival will feature over 100 national and international acts, including Arnaldo Antunes and Gaby Amarantos. The programming will span 12 different locations across Goiânia, including the Centro Cultural Oscar Niemeyer and Centro Cultural Martim Cererê, aiming to revitalize the local music scene.
