Goiás 2026 elections feature six gubernatorial candidates

The 2026 elections in Goiás feature a competitive race for the governorship with six primary candidates: Daniel Vilela, Danilo da Silva, Luciana Amorim, Luís Cesar Bueno, Marconi Perillo, and Wilder Morais. The electorate consists of over 5 million voters, with women making up 53% of the demographic.

In addition to the executive race, the legislative elections show a significant trend of political veterans seeking return to the Legislative Assembly of Goiás (Alego). Sixteen former state deputies across eight different parties are campaigning for seats. Notable figures include former Alego presidents and former mayors, such as Lissauer Vieira (PL), Hélio de Sousa (PSDB), and Samuel Almeida (PSD).
