Goiás agribusiness average income rises 20.5%
The average monthly income in the agribusiness sector of Goiás rose by 20.5% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. According to data from the Instituto Mauro Borges de Pesquisa e Política Econômica (IMB), based on IBGE's PNAD Contínua, the average income reached R$ 5,562.92, representing a real increase of R$ 947.23 after adjusting for inflation.
Growth was observed across all segments. The highest percentage increase occurred in agribusiness-related services, which rose 33.4% to R$ 5,641.71. The primary segment, encompassing agriculture and livestock, saw the highest average income at R$ 7,024.59, a 25.4% increase. The agroindustry segment grew by 19.1% to R$ 3,002.83, while input-related activities saw a 7.7% rise to R$ 6,582.56.
The labor market also showed signs of formalization and increased qualification. Formal workers saw an average income of R$ 7,760.19, while the number of formal employees rose to 611,700. Additionally, the number of workers with higher education increased by 6%, reaching 271,500. Agribusiness currently employs 1.08 million people in Goiás, accounting for 28% of the state's employed population.
