Goiás and Federal District invest millions to pave rural roads

The governor of Goiás signed an order to pave more than 10 kilometres of highway GO‑469, linking Abadia de Goiás to the GO‑219 junction near Aragoiânia. The project, funded with R$ 31.3 million from the state treasury, is intended to improve cargo transport, tourism and overall traffic safety, and includes parallel investments in a community centre, a market hall and a new health unit.

In the Federal District, Governor Celina Leão inaugurated an asphalted access road to a public school in the Incra 9 community of Ceilândia, using R$ 2.9 million. The work, part of the “Caminho das Escolas’’ programme, added paving, drainage and signage to the route connecting the school to BR‑070, benefitting roughly 500 students and local residents. The governor noted that additional segments are being prepared for Incra 8 and Incra 9, with federal support totaling R$ 22.4 million for rural school access roads.

Both projects aim to increase mobility, economic activity and quality of life for residents of the respective regions.
