Goiás cities launch major road upgrades to cut congestion

In Anápolis, the new lane at the Trevo da Havan roundabout – part of the BR‑153 and BR‑060 interchange – has received asphalt paving and is slated to open within 30 days, with full project completion expected in 120 days. Work includes drainage improvements, road signage, pillar protection, finishing touches and landscaping to improve traffic flow and safety.

In Goiânia, a new traffic system on avenues T‑10 and T‑55 began on 13 June. Both corridors now operate as one‑way segments with four free lanes each, synchronized by a "green‑wave" traffic‑light system. Pedestrian safety upgrades feature revitalised crosswalks, a protective island on T‑10 and the introduction of a “hand‑English” roundabout at the T‑55/T‑30 junction. New parking and stopping restrictions were also imposed to maintain smooth traffic flow.
