Goiás gubernatorial candidates debate healthcare management

During recent interviews for the ‘Atualidades Manchester’ program, gubernatorial candidates in Goiás presented diverging views on the management of the state's healthcare system. PT candidate Luís César Bueno proposed a ‘reestatização’ (re-statization) of the sector, aiming to remove management from Social Organizations (OSs) and return full control to the government.

In contrast, candidates Marconi Perillo (PSDB) and Wilder Morais (PL) indicated they intend to maintain the current system, though they suggested strategic corrections. Morais expressed interest in creating a ‘Tabela SUS Goiás’ to supplement the national SUS table, while Perillo focused on expanding the capacity of the Dr. Henrique Santillo State Hospital.

Other campaign topics included Wilder Morais' opposition to video cameras on military police uniforms, Marconi Perillo's plans regarding the State Convention Center, and Luís César Bueno's commitment to restoring 2% of the budget for the maintenance of the State University of Goiás (UEG).
