Goiás Legislative Assembly approves reduced session schedule for election period

Deputies at the Legislative Assembly of Goiás (Alego) have approved a reduction in legislative sessions during the 2026 election period. The measure, proposed by Deputy Amilton Filho (MDB), aims to prevent the disruption of legislative work as the October elections approach.

Under the new arrangement, plenary sessions will be held exclusively on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in a hybrid format until the first round of elections. Extraordinary sessions will be convened only as necessary. The proposal passed with 19 votes in favor and four against.
