Goiás midfielder reveals salary arrears amid Série B struggles

Goiás midfielder Gegê has confirmed that the club is facing significant financial difficulties, with player salaries and image rights reportedly overdue since May. Despite having one of the largest payrolls in the Brazilian Série B, estimated at approximately R$ 3.5 million, the team is struggling on the pitch, currently sitting in 11th place.

Gegê stated that the squad is attempting to maintain focus on their goal of returning to the top flight by avoiding discussions about the unpaid wages during daily training routines. He emphasized that the players cannot give up, noting that they must treat remaining matches as finals to secure promotion.
