Goiás 2026 Election: Gov. Daniel Vilela Leads Governor Race, Ex‑Gov. Ronaldo Caiado Leads Senate Poll

Recent Genial/Quaest and Folha Z polls indicate that incumbent governor Daniel Vilela (MDB) is the front‑runner for the 2026 Goiás governorship, capturing 37% of voter intention in the first‑round scenario. In simulated runoff match‑ups, Vilela is projected to win with 52% against former governor Marconi Perillo (PSDB) who would obtain 28%.

In the Senate contest, ex‑governor Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) tops the list with roughly 20% of intended votes, while the combined first‑and‑second‑choice preference poll places Gustavo Gayer (PL) slightly ahead at 18.6%. Former first lady Gracinha Caiado (União Brasil) follows with about 16%, and other candidates remain within the margin of error.

Caiado also enjoys an 87% approval rating in Goiás, the highest among ten states surveyed by Genial/Quaest. Governor Vilela will formalise a 12‑party coalition on 5 August, aiming to broaden his political base ahead of the election.
