Political candidates in Goiás are focusing on healthcare and legislative reform during their campaigns. Ezizio Barbosa, running for federal deputy with the PSB, has prioritized mental health access for low-income populations and proposed reforms to consumer protection and penal execution laws. Barbosa also suggested implementing productive activities for inmates to aid rehabilitation.

During a debate, Luiz Cesar Bueno (PT) criticized the state of public health in Goiás, describing the patient regulation queues as ‘inhumane’. Bueno highlighted difficulties in accessing intensive care units (ICUs) and blood transfusions, noting that patients often face long waits for critical care. He also argued for increased state presence in healthcare, criticizing the use of Social Organizations (OSs) for allegedly increasing system costs.
