Celina Leão leads Federal District reelection poll with 60.7% of votes
Celina Leão (PP), the incumbent Governor of the Federal District and candidate for reelection, is leading the race for the 2026 second round. According to a poll by the Instituto Gazeta de Pesquisas (IGAPE), Leão holds 60.7% of valid votes, while Leandro Grass (PT) follows with 39.3%, representing a 21.4 percentage point lead.
In the final week of the campaign, Leão has engaged in significant mobilization efforts, including a large motorcade in Brasília involving approximately one thousand vehicles and a campaign event in Samambaia. During her visit to Samambaia, she emphasized her connection to the region and claimed the area is predominantly right-wing with minimal support for the PT.
Governor Ibaneis Rocha also participated in the Samambaia event, where he addressed infrastructure needs, specifically noting that the metro expansion project includes the construction of two new stations to extend service to more distant areas of the city.
