Goiás posts lowest vehicle theft rate in Brazil for 2025

The Ministry of Justice and Public Security’s 2026 Public Safety Map shows that Goiás recorded the lowest vehicle‑theft rate among Brazil’s 27 federative units in 2025, with 9.40 robberies per 100,000 vehicles. The state’s absolute vehicle‑robbery count fell from 725 in 2024 to 483 in 2025, a 33.38 % reduction, and the robbery rate dropped from 14.72 to 9.40 per 100,000 vehicles.

Furture incidents also declined: vehicle‑theft reports fell 13.06 % to 3,115, and cargo‑theft dropped from 23 to 10 cases, a 56.52 % decrease. Goiás registered zero robberies of financial institutions for the fourth consecutive year. By contrast, the national average for vehicle robbery stood at 80.87 per 100,000 vehicles.
