Goiás Prisoners Register for Record 7,734 ENC CEJA Exam
The Goiás Penal Police recorded 7,734 inmates registering for the 2026 National Examination for Certification of Competencies of Young People and Adults in Custody (Encceja PPL). This represents a 35.2% increase over the 5,719 participants the previous year and is the highest number ever registered in the state.
The exam, administered by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research (Inep), provides voluntary and free certification of elementary and secondary education for people who did not complete these levels at the usual age. It will be held in prison and socio‑educational units from 23 to 27 November, with results expected on 10 February 2027. Since the program began in 2017, registrations have risen from 541 to 7,734, a 1,329% increase.
