Goiás reports strong industrial growth and rising agribusiness incomes

The state of Goiás is experiencing significant economic growth in both its industrial and agribusiness sectors. According to IBGE data, industrial production in the state rose by 3.3% over the last 12 months, outperforming the national average of 0.6%. In the first half of 2026, the local industry led job creation in the region, adding 19,942 positions, a 4.77% increase in the workforce that exceeds the national growth rate.

To celebrate this momentum, the Federation of Industries of the State of Goiás (Fieg) has announced Expoind 2026, a business and solutions fair for the regional industry scheduled for October 27–29 at the Goiânia Convention Center.

Simultaneously, the agribusiness sector is seeing rising incomes and formalization. Data from the Mauro Borges Institute indicates that the average monthly income for agribusiness workers reached R$ 5,562.92 in the first quarter of 2026, a real increase of 20.5% compared to the previous year. This growth is widespread across primary production, agro-industry, inputs, and related services. The bioenergy sector, particularly sugarcane production, remains a vital component of this economic landscape, supporting ethanol, sugar, and energy generation.
