Goiás trails join Brazil's national long‑course tourism catalog
Brazil's Ministry of Tourism has added two long‑distance routes from the state of Goiás to its national catalog of 205 trails. The Caminho de Cora Coralina runs about 300 km from Corumbá de Goiás to the city of Goiás, crossing eight municipalities and honoring the writer Cora Coralina. The Caminho dos Veadeiros traverses the Chapada dos Veadeiros region, linking Formosa, Alto Paraíso de Goiás, São João d’Aliança and Cavalcante, and showcases typical cerrado landscapes, waterfalls and canyons.
The catalog aims to improve public access to information about long‑course trails and to encourage nature‑based tourism. The routes already attract hikers from other Brazilian states and abroad, including visitors from Portugal, the United States and Canada, and are expected to boost local economies and highlight cultural and natural heritage.
