Gokuniku opens premium Japanese restaurant in Senopati, Jakarta

Gokuniku, a new premium Japanese dining restaurant, officially opened in the Senopati area of South Jakarta on August 24, 2026. The establishment focuses on high-quality meat experiences, offering both shabu-shabu and sukiyaki.

A central feature of the restaurant is its signature Spicy Tomato Sukiyaki. Unlike traditional sukiyaki, which is typically sweet and savory, this version incorporates fresh tomato and bird's eye chili to create a sour, savory, and spicy flavor profile. CEO Michael noted that the concept was inspired by a similar dish in Singapore but was adapted to suit Indonesian tastes.

The restaurant offers various premium meat selections, including Japanese Wagyu with different marbling levels, as well as ribeye sourced from Miyazaki and Kagoshima. The dining experience is designed to provide privacy through the use of private rooms.
