Gol Linhas Aéreas adjusts international flight strategy
Gol Linhas Aéreas has delayed the integration of five Airbus A330neo aircraft, with deliveries now expected in early 2027 due to maintenance center availability and parts procurement. To maintain its flight schedule to New York and Lisbon, the airline is utilizing wet lease services from the Spanish company Wamos, a member of the Abra Group.
The company plans to use the A330neo for domestic routes connecting Salvador, Belém, and Manaus starting November 18, serving as a transition before intercontinental operations begin in mid-February 2027. The shift to the newer models is expected to reduce fuel consumption by approximately 12%.
In a separate initiative, Gol has partnered with Invest. Rio to support the Web Summit Lisboa 2026 mission. As the official airline for the event, Gol will provide ten air tickets to selected Rio de Janeiro-based startups, facilitating their participation in the global technology conference in Portugal.
