Gol Linhas Aéreas announces André Fehlauer as new CEO

Gol Linhas Aéreas has announced a leadership reorganization. André Fehlauer, formerly the head of Livelo and previously the president of Smiles, will assume the role of CEO in September. The company stated that Fehlauer’s appointment is intended to keep the customer at the center of the airline’s strategy as it enters a new phase of value creation in synergy with Grupo Abra.

Celso Ferrer, who has been with the company for 20 years and served as CEO for the last four, will step down on August 31. Ferrer is set to become the president of Boeing for Latin America and the Caribbean. Additionally, Albert Perez will take on the role of president, a position he will hold alongside his current duties as Chief Operating Officer.

This management shift occurs while Gol undergoes structural changes under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States. The airline, which holds approximately 32% of the Brazilian domestic market, is also working toward fleet diversification, having recently ordered 45 Embraer E2 jets to complement its existing Boeing 737 fleet.
