Gol Linhas Aéreas cancels multiple domestic and international routes
Gol Linhas Aéreas is undergoing a significant restructuring of its flight network, resulting in the cancellation of 38 domestic and international routes. The airline cited rising aviation fuel costs—which have doubled and now represent approximately 40% of operational expenses—as the primary driver for these adjustments.
International cancellations include flights to Miami, Orlando, Punta Cana, Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Montevideo, and Asunción. These changes are scheduled to take effect between December 2026 and February 2027. Some routes will see reduced frequency rather than total suspension.
Domestically, the airline will discontinue several connections, including routes between Rio Branco and Porto Velho, as well as Rio Branco and Manaus. The Rio Branco to Porto Velho service is expected to end in November, while the Rio Branco to Manaus route is slated for discontinuation by February 2027. Passengers with existing bookings have been advised to seek refunds, credits, or rescheduling through the airline or its loyalty program, Smiles.
