GOL Linhas Aéreas receives first Airbus A330-900 for certification

GOL Linhas Aéreas has received its first Airbus A330-900 in Brazil to begin the certification process for widebody operations. The aircraft, registered as PS-WGH, arrived at Belo Horizonte’s Confins International Airport following a ferry flight from Teruel, Spain.

The aircraft will initially be used for training, inspections, and demonstrations required by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to include the A330-900 in the company’s Operational Specifications. This process includes updating operational documentation and conducting emergency evacuation demonstrations.

Once certified, the A330 is expected to operate domestic commercial flights until approximately mid-January 2027. Planned routes include services between Rio de Janeiro (Galeão) and Salvador, as well as Galeão and Belém, with potential service to Manaus. The aircraft features a 377-seat configuration, including 12 seats in a +Conforto category and 365 in Economy. Following its tenure with GOL, the aircraft is slated to operate for Avianca.
