Golar LNG reports strong Q2 2026 results amid FLNG expansion

Golar LNG Limited reported strong Q2 2026 financial results, featuring a 72% year-over-year revenue increase to $130.5 million and a 20.6% sequential rise in adjusted EBITDA. The company has completed its transition into a pure-play floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) infrastructure provider, exiting legacy operations and maintenance contracts.

Key operational highlights include the FLNG Gimi exceeding contractually committed volumes by 15% and the FLNG Hilli completing its contract in Cameroon. The Hilli is currently undergoing a $350 million modification program in Singapore to prepare for a 20-year contract in Argentina starting in late 2027. Additionally, the FLNG Esperanza is under construction in China and is reported to be 74% complete.

In a separate development within the floating gas sector, Lloyd’s Register is providing technical assurance for the conversion of an LNG carrier into a floating storage unit (FSU) for a Perenco-related project. The vessel, formerly the LNG Bayelsa, is being converted at Drydocks World Dubai to support offshore gas projects in Gabon. This conversion aims to provide cost-effective storage and reduce gas flaring.
