Gold and silver prices decrease in Bangladesh

Gold and silver prices have decreased in the Bangladeshi market following a decision by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS). The new rates, effective from 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 26, reflect adjustments in local pure gold and silver prices, influenced by trends in the global market.

For 22-carat gold, the price per bhori is now set at 232,930 BDT. Other rates include 222,490 BDT for 21-carat gold and 191,164 BDT for 18-carat gold. Traditional method gold is priced at 156,192 BDT per bhori. Silver prices also saw a reduction, with 22-carat silver priced at 4,839 BDT per bhori.

BAJUS noted that while gold prices have fluctuated significantly this year—reaching a historic high of 286,000 BDT in January—the recent decline follows broader international market movements. The association confirmed that VAT is included in the selling price and cannot be collected separately from customers.
