Gold and silver prices drop in Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a reduction in the prices of gold and silver in the local market. The price adjustment follows a decline in international market rates for precious metals.

According to the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring, the price of the highest quality 22-carat gold per bhori has been reduced by 4,374 Taka, bringing the new price to 2,31,880 Taka. Other carat ratings, including 21-carat, 18-carat, and traditional methods, have also seen price decreases.

Silver prices have also been adjusted downward. For 22-carat silver, the price per bhori is now set at 5,015 Taka. The association noted that these new rates, which include VAT, are effective across all jewelry establishments in the country until further notice.
