Gold and silver prices drop in India ahead of Raksha Bandhan
Gold and silver prices in India have experienced a significant decline ahead of the Raksha Bandhan festival. On August 27, 2026, gold prices saw a notable drop, with 24-carat gold trading at approximately ₹1,62,000 to ₹1,63,130 per 10 grams in major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Lucknow.
Silver prices also fell, reaching around ₹2,60,000 per kilogram in several major urban centers. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold prices were recorded at approximately ₹1,57,900 per 10 grams, while silver traded at ₹2,37,882 per unit following a percentage decline.
Market data shows variations across cities. In Delhi, 24-carat gold prices dropped by as much as ₹770 per 10 grams compared to previous rates. While domestic prices have trended downward, some reports indicate that international markets have shown slight upward movement for both metals.
