Gold and silver prices decline across major Indian markets
Gold and silver prices in India have experienced a significant downward trend, with gold prices falling for three consecutive days. In major cities like Delhi, 24-carat gold prices reached approximately ₹1,49,430 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced around ₹1,36,840 to ₹1,36,990 per 10 grams.
Silver has also seen a sharp decline, dropping by as much as ₹5,100 over two days in some markets. In Delhi, silver was quoted at approximately ₹2,34,900 per kilogram. Regional variations were noted in Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Hyderabad, where prices fluctuated based on local market conditions and purity levels.
Analysts attribute the decline to a strengthening Indian rupee, which makes dollar-priced bullion cheaper to import, and weak global cues. Investors are closely monitoring international market movements, US inflation data, and potential Federal Reserve interest rate decisions, which influence the attractiveness of gold as a non-yielding asset.
