Bangladesh gold prices rise by 2,216 BDT per bhori
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has adjusted gold prices in the local market following recent fluctuations in both domestic bullion rates and global market trends. After a series of price reductions in late September, prices rose again on Wednesday, September 30, due to an increase in the price of pure gold.
Following the latest adjustment, the price for one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold has increased by 2,216 BDT, bringing the new rate to 230,772 BDT including VAT. Other rates include 220,391 BDT for 21-carat gold and 189,248 BDT for 18-carat gold. While gold prices have seen significant volatility, silver prices remained unchanged in the most recent update.
BAJUS noted that while local bullion prices drive immediate adjustments, global market movements also play a critical role. The association emphasized that VAT is included in the listed selling prices and cannot be collected separately from customers. Additionally, specific rules apply for exchanging or purchasing old jewelry, involving deductions for making charges and stone values.
