Gold and silver prices fluctuate in India and Pakistan

Precious metal markets in India and Pakistan have experienced significant volatility in early October 2026. In India, gold prices saw a recent recovery, rising by approximately ₹500 to reach ₹1,49,800 per 10 grams in Delhi. This upward trend was attributed to a weakening Indian rupee, which fell below the ₹96-per-dollar mark, and softer-than-expected US inflation data that reduced expectations of a Federal Reserve interest rate hike.

Conversely, silver prices in India faced sharp declines, dropping by as much as ₹5,000 per kilogram in a single session to approximately ₹2.27 lakh per kg. Despite recent fluctuations, both metals remained down on a weekly basis, with gold falling about 2% and silver declining roughly 4.2% over the week.

In Pakistan, gold prices were reported at Rs438,636 per tola, while the 10-gram rate stood at Rs376,059. These local movements broadly tracked international trends, where spot gold was trading around $4,161 to $4,172 per ounce.
