India's gold and silver prices shift on Aug 5 2026
On 5 August 2026 Indian precious‑metal markets showed mixed movements. In several major cities 24‑carat gold fell by about ₹230 per 10 g, with Delhi quoting ₹1,43,990 and Mumbai similar levels, while a report from Bangalore noted a modest rise of ₹175 per gram for 24‑carat gold. Silver prices also diverged: after a week of stability the metal slipped ₹100 per kg in Delhi, yet other data showed a jump to ₹2,45,000 per kg, its highest in four weeks. Analysts linked the volatility to global factors such as U.S. Federal Reserve interest‑rate expectations, geopolitical uncertainty and a steady RBI repo rate of 5.25 %. The fluctuations affect retail jewellery buyers ahead of the Indian festival season and influence commodity traders on the MCX exchange.
