Gold and silver prices in India show downward trend
Gold and silver prices in India have shown significant fluctuations and a general downward trend in mid-October 2026. In major metropolitan areas such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru, 24-carat gold prices have been recorded at approximately ₹1,47,430 to ₹1,47,580 per 10 grams.
Silver prices have also experienced a decline, with rates in several cities stabilizing around ₹2,29,900 per kilogram, though prices in Chennai and Hyderabad are slightly higher at ₹2,35,900 to ₹2,39,900 per kilogram. In the domestic spot market, silver prices saw a weekly drop of approximately 6 percent.
Market analysts note that high gold prices have led some investors to shift their focus toward silver as a more affordable alternative. Local prices continue to vary based on city, purity levels (18K, 22K, and 24K), taxes, and making charges.
