Gold and silver prices surge amid rising demand and debasement fears
Gold and silver prices have seen significant recent increases, with gold rising approximately 14.6 percent in a single month to over $4,600 per ounce. Silver experienced even more rapid growth, gaining more than 20 percent to approach $70 per ounce.
A survey by The Royal Mint indicates that many British adults regret not investing in precious metals over the last five years. Specifically, one-third of respondents regretted missing the gold rally, while 30 percent regretted missing the rise in silver. Despite gold gaining nearly 50 percent and silver rising almost 200 percent over that period, only 8 percent of UK adults hold gold savings and 3 percent own silver.
While Western investors have largely remained on the sidelines, demand from Asian markets, including China and India, has helped drive the gold bull market. The survey also noted that 73 percent of respondents expressed concern regarding how global conflicts and economic instability might impact the value of their money, highlighting fears of monetary debasement and inflation.
