Aggrieved customers of Gold Coast Fund Management are organizing a protest in Accra to demand the release of long-held, locked-up funds. The group, led by convener Charles Nyame, plans to gather at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Osu before traveling by bus to Jubilee House to present a formal petition to President John Dramani Mahama.
Gold Coast Fund Management was one of many firms whose licenses were revoked by the Securities and Exchange Commission during a financial sector cleanup between 2019 and 2020. The organizers have called for unity among all victims of the financial crisis, inviting customers from other collapsed institutions to join their efforts to pressure the government for repayment.
