Gold ETF inflows reach $3 billion amid rising Asian demand

Global gold investment saw significant activity in July 2026, with approximately $3 billion in net inflows into physically backed gold ETFs. According to the World Gold Council, $616 million of these inflows were directed toward Asia, led by China. Drivers for this trend include the weakness of the CSI 300 index, lower local returns, and a stabilizing gold price.

In this market context, Fortuna Mining Corp. and Osisko Gold Group Inc. are highlighted for their distinct operational focuses. Fortuna Mining reported a free cash flow of $85.7 million from continuing operations for the second quarter of 2026, maintaining liquidity of $756.7 million as of June 30. The company is utilizing its cash flow to invest in the Séguéla, Diamba Sud, and Bambadji projects.

Osisko Gold Group is operating as a developer, focusing on the technical securing of the fully permitted Cariboo project while exploring additional potential through the Proserpine area.
