Gold Fields Ghana awards scholarships to 150 tertiary students

Gold Fields Ghana Foundation has awarded scholarships to 150 tertiary students from its host communities. The recipients, which include 86 females, will receive support for the next four years of their education.

The scholarship package provides an annual total of GH¢10,500 per student, consisting of GH¢9,500 for academic fees and accommodation, plus a GH¢1,000 stipend. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on parents and support sustainable development within the company’s host regions.

Dr. Celestina Allotey, Vice President of Community Relations at Gold Fields Ghana Limited, noted that since the program's inception, 3,092 students have benefited. In addition to educational funding, the company is providing Toyota Hilux vehicles to the Ghana Education Service in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal and Prestea Huni Valley assemblies to assist with school monitoring activities.
