Gold Fields targets record gold production in Chile via Salares Norte

Gold Fields is advancing the commercial consolidation of Salares Norte, its primary mining project in Chile, aiming for a historic production milestone. Located in the Atacama Region, the project is transitioning from construction and commissioning phases into a stage focused on operational stability, efficiency, and consistent commercial production.

During the Expomina Peru 2026 event, Cristian Álvarez, Senior Vice President for Chile at Gold Fields, emphasized the strategic importance of Salares Norte within the company’s international portfolio. The project is expected to strengthen the company’s presence in South America and increase Chile’s significance in the global gold market.
