Gold ingots worth 1.2 billion pesos found in Santa Cruz toilet
Argentine Naval Prefecture officers discovered four gold ingots hidden inside the water tank of an unused toilet during raids in Caleta Olivia, Santa Cruz. The gold, weighing more than 2.5 kilograms, is part of a seizure valued at over 1.2 billion pesos.
The operations were conducted under judicial order as part of an investigation into the disappearance of a man in December 2025. During the searches of two properties, authorities identified seven individuals, including two adults and two minors.
In addition to the gold, investigators seized a vehicle, two mobile phones, a DVR recording device, 38 shell casings, and swabs taken from a refrigerator. All seized items and identified persons have been placed at the disposal of the Instruction Court No. 1 of Caleta Olivia, overseen by Judge Marcos Pérez Soruco.
