Gold market outlook and mining developments
Goldman Sachs Research forecasts that gold prices will reach 4,900 US dollars per ounce by the end of 2026. This outlook follows a period of significant market activity, including 18 billion US dollars flowing into gold ETFs in August, which brought total holdings to a record 4,189 tons.
In the mining sector, Osisko Gold Group is developing the Cariboo project in British Columbia, with plans for its first gold pour in Q1-2029 and commercial production starting in the second half of 2029. Meanwhile, Fury Gold Mines maintains a portfolio of over 157,000 hectares for gold and critical minerals in Quebec.
GoGold Resources is transitioning from a cashflow producer to a mine builder. The company has begun construction on the Los Ricos South project in Jalisco, Mexico, supported by 284 million US dollars in cash as of the end of the June quarter. Its Parral Tailings Project in Chihuahua continues to provide financial stability, reporting 27.8 million US dollars in revenue for the third fiscal quarter.
