Gold mining firms Royal Gold and Regis Resources report growth and steady production
Royal Gold is reporting growth driven by recent acquisitions and strong precious metals prices. The company’s portfolio includes over 360 assets, with gold accounting for nearly 80% of its revenue. Recent strategic moves include the acquisition of Sandstorm and Horizon, as well as a $1 billion gold stream on First Quantum Minerals’ Kansanshi copper mine in Zambia and a $200 million commitment to the Warintza copper-gold project in Ecuador. These transactions have increased the company’s weighted average reserve life from 14 to approximately 18 years.
Separately, Regis Resources reported first-quarter gold production of 83,000 ounces, meeting company expectations despite heavy rainfall. The company reported a cash and bullion position of $1.28 billion as of September 30, 2026. While production for the quarter was in line with guidance, the company noted that full-year production is expected to be weighted toward the second half of the fiscal year as new open pits become operational.
