Several gold mining companies experienced stock price gaps upward during recent trading sessions, coinciding with a rally in precious metals.
Gold Fields Limited (GFI) opened at $48.09, up from its previous close of $45.45. While some analysts, such as Zacks Research, have issued sell ratings, others like Canaccord Genuity Group have upgraded the stock to a “buy” with a higher price target.
Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited (HMY) saw its stock gap up from a close of $19.28 to an opening of $20.63. The company holds a consensus rating of “Moderate Buy,” with recent upgrades from Wall Street Zen and Weiss Ratings.
