Gold prices in Bangladesh drop by 7,115 BDT per bhori

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a significant reduction in gold prices in the local market. Effective from 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 29, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) has decreased by 7,115 BDT, bringing the new price including VAT to 240,628 BDT.

Other price adjustments include 21-carat gold, now set at 229,781 BDT per bhori, and 18-carat gold at 197,355 BDT per bhori. The price for traditional method gold has been set at 161,196 BDT per bhori. This reduction follows a series of price increases earlier in August.

In addition to gold, silver prices have also been lowered. The new price for 22-carat silver is 5,307 BDT per bhori. BAJUS stated that the announced prices include VAT, meaning no additional VAT should be charged to customers, though labor charges based on design will still apply.
