Gold prices in Bangladesh rise following three consecutive decreases

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has increased gold and silver prices following three consecutive rounds of price reductions. The new rates, effective from 10:00 AM on Thursday, were decided during a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring.

The price of 22-carat gold jewelry, including VAT, has risen to approximately 237,348 to 237,362 BDT per bhori (11.664 grams), up from the previous price of 231,880 BDT. This represents an increase of roughly 5,482 BDT per bhori. Other gold categories include 21-carat gold at 226,688–226,690 BDT, 18-carat gold at 194,614–194,618 BDT, and traditional method gold at 158,877–158,980 BDT.

Silver prices have also been adjusted. The price for 22-carat silver per bhori is now 5,132 BDT, up from 5,015 BDT. Prices for 21-carat, 18-carat, and traditional silver have also seen increases. BAJUS noted that the price hike was driven by the rising cost of pure gold. Labor charges based on design and taxes are applied separately according to standard regulations.
