Global gold prices rise above $4,200 amid shifting market trends
Global gold prices have seen upward movement, with the ounce trading above $4,200. This trend is supported by declining oil prices and falling bond yields, which have reduced expectations for further interest rate hikes by central banks.
In Egypt, gold prices have shown relative stability with minor fluctuations. The 21-karat gold, the most traded purity, has recently been recorded around 6,150 EGP per gram. Local prices remain heavily influenced by the global ounce price and the USD/EGP exchange rate.
In Syria, gold prices have increased since the beginning of October, with 21-karat gold reaching approximately 16,450 SYP per gram. While prices in local currency rose, the USD value for certain purities remained stable.
In Yemen, gold prices have remained steady in both Sana'a and Aden. However, a significant disparity exists between the two regions due to financial divisions and differing exchange rates. In Aden, 21-karat gold is priced around 181,783 YER, while in Sana'a, it is approximately 62,321 YER.
In Dubai, gold rates remained unchanged as of October 12, 2026, with 24K gold at AED 505.50 per gram. Investors continue to monitor Federal Reserve policy signals and geopolitical developments for future market direction.
