India gold and silver prices slide amid stronger dollar and rate expectations

Gold and silver prices in India fell sharply in late June. In Delhi, gold dropped to around ₹1.5 lakh per 10 g, its fourth consecutive daily decline, while silver fell to a two‑month low of about ₹2.4 lakh per kg. Similar corrections were reported across major Indian cities, with 24‑carat gold trading near ₹1.45‑₹1.46 lakh per 10 g.

The downward move was driven by a stronger U.S. dollar and higher‑for‑longer interest‑rate expectations after the Federal Reserve signaled that inflation risks remain and rates may stay elevated. Analysts noted that a rising dollar raises the opportunity cost of holding non‑yielding bullion, reducing demand. Geopolitical uncertainty, particularly around U.S.–Iran talks, added volatility but was secondary to monetary factors.

Global commentary echoed the same trend: gold slipped to about $4,155 per ounce and silver to roughly $64‑$65 per ounce, pressured by the dollar, Fed policy and easing safe‑haven demand. Investor Robert Kiyosaki reiterated his bullish view despite the price drops, waiting for technical confirmation before buying.
