Gold and silver prices drop in Pakistan and India

Gold and silver prices experienced significant declines in Pakistan and India on September 29, 2026, driven by falling international bullion rates and geopolitical tensions in West Asia.

In Pakistan, 24-karat gold prices dropped by Rs 12,800 per tola, settling at Rs 438,136. The price for 10 grams of gold fell to Rs 375,631. Silver also saw a decrease, trading at Rs 6,578 per tola. Currency markets in Pakistan remained largely unchanged, with the US Dollar trading at Rs 277.85.

In India, precious metals faced intense selling pressure. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures fell below the ₹1,50,000 per 10-gram mark, while silver slipped below ₹2,30,000 per kilogram. Retail rates across major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai reflected these downward trends. The decline is attributed to rising crude oil prices and uncertainty regarding US-Iran relations, which have impacted global commodity sentiment.
