Vietnam gold prices remain stable amid global market volatility
Domestic gold prices in Vietnam have remained largely stable, with SJC gold bars consistently trading around 140.5 million VND for purchase and 143.5 million VND for sale. Major retailers including DOJI, PNJ, and Phu Quy have maintained similar price levels, though some variations exist in the 9999 gold ring segment. The spread between buying and selling prices remains high, often reaching 3 to 4 million VND per tael.
On the international market, gold prices have experienced volatility, fluctuating around 4,135 to 4,150 USD per ounce. While weak US employment data has fueled expectations that the Federal Reserve may pause interest rate hikes, strong US dollar performance and high Treasury yields continue to exert downward pressure on precious metals. Investors are closely monitoring upcoming FOMC meeting minutes for further signals regarding future monetary policy.
