Gold prices rise in Bangladesh as BAJUS announces hike

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has increased gold prices in the local market. As of Saturday, the price of 22-carat gold rose by 1,691 BDT per bhori, bringing the new rate to 234,621 BDT including VAT.

Other gold categories also saw price adjustments: 21-carat gold is now 224,065 BDT, 18-carat gold is 192,398 BDT, and traditional method gold is 157,172 BDT per bhori. The price hike was attributed to rising costs of pure gold in the local market and fluctuations in the global market.

Silver prices also increased, with 22-carat silver rising by 116 BDT to reach 5,132 BDT per bhori. The new rates became effective at 10:00 AM.
