Gold Prices Surge in Pakistan and India as Global Bullion Rises

On July 30 2026 Pakistan’s 24‑karat gold price rose to Rs 427,436 per tola, while the price for 10 g of gold increased to Rs 366,457. Similar gains were recorded in the domestic market, with 22‑karat gold trading around Rs 393,353 per tola and silver also edging higher. The rally mirrored a rise in the international bullion market, where spot gold climbed by $10 per ounce to $4,050.

In India, total gold demand fell 6 % year‑on‑year to 131.4 tonnes in the April‑June quarter, with jewellery demand dropping 15 % to 75.1 tonnes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged citizens to curb non‑essential gold purchases, especially for weddings, for a year. Indian gold prices hovered near $4,080 per ounce, with market analysts noting the influence of the US Federal Reserve’s decision to keep rates unchanged.

Central banks globally net‑purchased a record 288.9 tonnes of gold in Q2 2026, a 62 % increase over the same period in 2025. The National Bank of Poland led the buying with 51 tonnes, while the People’s Bank of China added significant purchases. These institutional accumulations underscore ongoing safe‑haven demand amid geopolitical tensions and inflation concerns.
